Tnemec's Series 238 Offers Protection In No Time

Unique Formula Minimizes Down Time

(August 2004) KANSAS City, Mo. – For situations where down time must be minimized, Tnemec Company, Inc., Kansas City, Mo., introduces Series 238 Power-Tread FC, a multi-purpose, modified polyamine fast-cure epoxy for primer, broadcast, slurry broadcast or mortar applications, as part of its StrataShield flooring line, according to Joe Schmit, director of the StrataShield floor and wall line for Tnemec.

“Series 238 provides great protection against impact, abrasion and mild chemical contact and reduced down-time due to its curing properties. Curing in half the time of a typical 100 percent solids epoxy, Series 238’s innovative formula puts users back in business in just eight to 16 hours,” says Schmit.

Power-Tread FC is ideal for locations with concrete floors that are subject to constant abrasion and contamination from oil, grease, dirt and mild chemicals.

“The fast-cure capability makes Series 238 great for processing and manufacturing plants, pharmaceutical and biotechnical processing areas, institutions, hangers, auto dealerships or any other facilities where concrete floors need to be protected and quick return-to-service is critical for job satisfaction,” says Schmit.

In addition to its fast return-to-service time, Series 238 is easy for flooring contractors to apply and has an easy 2:1 mix ratio. Power-Tread’s low application odor and compliance with VOC regulations is an added benefit for architects, engineers, owners and facility managers.

“My customers love Series 238 because it allows flooring contractors to apply two broadcast coats during a normal weekday. This saves them time, labor and money,” says John Laird, Coating Specialists, an independent Tnemec coatings consultant.

Series 238 is available in clear or can be field and factory tinted.
